Vaginal Rejuvenation

We all want and deserve to feel good about ourselves, and cosmetic surgery has provided the ultimate solution for people who wish to make changes in their physical appearance.

When we like the way that we look, we feel confident, empowered and attractive. However, cosmetic surgery isnโ€™t just limited to your face and the more obvious parts of your body.

Vaginal rejuvenation can help women feel more comfortable with their vaginal anatomy after childbirth and other cosmetic irregularities.

What is vaginal rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation, also referred to as vaginoplasty, is an internal reconstructive procedure designed to re-build the internal walls of the vagina.

It is most often requested by patients who feel that their vagina has loosened, normally due to aging or childbirth. As a result, they have lost the elastic feeling that they once had, which can impact their ability to use tampons, as well as their sexual pleasure.

Vaginal rejuvenation procedure and anesthesia
Vaginal rejuvenation surgery is performed under a general anesthetic and involves removing excess lining, before tightening the muscles and surrounding soft tissues.
In some cases, it may be necessary for Dr. Lesavoy to graft additional skin from another part of the body to rebuild the walls of the vagina sufficiently. Internal incisions are closed using dissolvable sutures.
Vaginal rejuvenation recovery
Unlike labiaplasty, you should expect to stay in the hospital for at least one or two days after your vaginal rejuvenation surgery. You will need to take about a week from work to give your body time to recover. However, it can take several months for your vagina to be fully healed.

Dr. Lesavoy will prescribe you pain relief to help minimize the discomfort that you can expect to feel after your procedure. You may also experience some swelling.

Dr. Lesavoy will provide you with other specific aftercare advice including: keeping the area clean to minimize the risk of infection, and using sanitary towels instead of tampons, as well as avoiding sex for at least four to six weeks after surgery.

Vaginal rejuvenation and childbirth
It is important to mention that vaginal rejuvenation surgery is not recommended for women who intend on having children in the future. Dr. Lesavoy will speak to you about your candidacy for the procedure during your consultation appointment.

Dr. Lesavoy is a highly skilled and experienced board-certified plastic surgeon, who is delighted to be able to offer his expertise to patients in and around the Beverly Hills area.
